IFC-400PCU and HDMI "mini" Cables

I didn't want to start a thread just to ask a question but there's no "General Questions" thread so here goes.

I purchased a Canon Vixia camcorder and need some accessories. I got burned already by purchasing an overpriced video light directly from Canon so I don't plan on getting burned again. I need a USB cable called an IFC-400PCU, which Canon sells for $64.99(!). My question is, is there a more reasonably-priced cable out there that does the same job? Not necessarily looking for "cheap", just less ridiculously expensive. Or maybe "IFC-400PCU" is just a general "type" of cable that can be picked up fairly cheap just about anywhere? Recommendations would be appreciated.

I also need to purchase an HDMI cable to connect the camcorder to a monitor but the HDMI Out on the camcorder is smaller than the standard pin and I have no idea what type of cable it's called. Also could use some recommendations. Thanks for any help!
