I've never played this one as my Wii was long gone before 2012, but I absolutely loved XC2 and Torna so I am definitely in for trying this one out.

Most people didn’t play this, because it was a GameStop exclusive and they opened up new copies so they could sell as used for $80.

It was also available on 3DS + digitally on Wii U.
Plus it's really easy to make the Wii region free, and then you could have also easily imported a European copy.

I can't wrap my head around, why they couldn't simply use the characters as shown in the art book.

For example the hair color of Shulk is simply incorrect. The original Wii version has the correct one.
The eyes of the character models were always off, but the Wii original at least looks like that art. The new one simply doesn't. The eyes in the new one do not look like the concept art at all.

I just looked around for scans of that book (I own the book myself), and funnily the first hit on the web are way too light. Maybe Nintendo used these bad scans as reference, idk.

Fiora has the same problems. Hair color completely off. The eyes in the new one are also not like the concept art.

Nintendo can't be serious with this release. Is this some kind of alpha footage?
Faces in the Wii version were probably the worst thing in the whole game, because they simply didn't really work out, but you can see the official art work when you look at them. wth did they do to the characters. Simply use the official art work, that's what the game was supposed to look like and it would have been great.

Not even Fiora's hair is supposed to look as bright as new "Shulk"'s new hair.
The eyes of these characters were supposed to be more "European" in a way, definitely not anime Asian eyes. But that's what they did for the new eyes.

I can't believe the original artists / developers are involved in this game. It's done by some other company, right?

I’m really looking forward to this. I enjoyed it on the Wii when I had it. The new version also looks great, matches in art style with Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

Not the 3DS, the "New" 3DS. It didn't work with the old one, which is what I have. Plus the 3DS screen is tiny and it would suck playing this on that screen. I only really bought my 3DS just to play A Link Between Worlds and nothing else.

as ugly as the wii faces were, they still beat the generic anime faces

anyway, I've been interested in this since its initial release, but never got around to playing it

I really like anime style games so this seems like an improvement to me.

Looks great to me. Better than they were in XC2 as well.

I gave this around 30 hours on N3DS before quitting. Mostly enjoyed the story and characters but just hated the combat and complex leveling system with all the links between characters to optimize. Game needs an easy option to let you ignore most systems if you chose and are just playing for the story etc. Like playing Fire Emblem on Normal Casual while the harder options are their for those who want more challenge and to dig into all the systems.

Always thought this series had a traditional turn-based combat system. Only found out recently that it's different. Not to mention a plot about time. Definitely on my radar now!

Can't wait for this. Never played this one and I loved Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Love the updated graphics. Looks more like the 2nd which looks really good. The old derpy faces look really dumb to me. Also don't have to worry about playing with the english dub. So excited.

It was small, but it also supported stereoscopic 3D. It was among the most stunning looking games that the 3DS family of systems has to offer. I remember being frequently in awe of the visuals.

I couldn't commit to playing any more than a few hours of the game though as it became backlog fodder when other games usurped its place.

Monolith redid the lipsync of the game for this version apparently.

This release apparently adds both an easy mode for more story focused playthrough, and a hard mode for returning players who are familiar with the gameplay systems and want a challenge.

I’m glad to get this, was interested when it came to 3DS but wasn’t worth upgrading my system for what turned out to be very few exclusive games and I think all are on Switch anyway (Xenoblade, Minecraft, Fire Emblem Warriors), and I loved Xenoblade 2 and Torna on the Switch.

An easy mode makes me want to buy this. I always like when games give you an option. The first time around I want to experience the story and get a feel for the world and then on a second playthrough I switch to a different level of difficulty.

Cool. I’ll definitely look into reviews of that mode.

Not something I’d pick up anytime soon as my gaming schedule is pretty full fir a while with upcoming releases and and playing through the Kingdom Hearts series doesn’t the first time. Also need to get back and finish Pokemon Sword before getting another Switch RPG.
