I dont consider it a "deal" to pay far above retail prices, even on retired sets. I like seeing whats on sale, and I cant bother to search page after page for scalper pricing. If you really want to throw so much into this, at least add a "percentage off" filter.
When I see so many terrible "deals", I just go to other affiliate sites to find the real deals. |

Doesn't look like anyone posts in here but since it's kinda Lego related I'll post it. Best Buy has their The Lego Ninjago Movie blu ray steelbook on sale for $18.99.
I just noticed there's like 9 posts total in the Lego forum yet there's 13 moderators listed for it lol. ![]() Best Buy Last edited by reewinder; 01-30-2018 at 11:50 AM. |

I buy Lego sets regularly.
1. Official Lego site is OK. Their usual sale is towards end of the product life after the product has been on shelf for about a year and they're trying to clear out their inventory. 2. Canada's ToysR'Us is better; has regular rotating mark downs as well as occasional buy one get another at 50%. 3. Amazon.ca is even better for high price items but you have to watch it almost daily and grab it when it appears for few days. eg. Porsche 911 GT3 standard price is C$349.99. At Lego, it's almost always at this price. On line 10~15% off. Also saw Bugatti (C$399.99) for 10~15% off online. My general guideline is: 10 pcs / C$1.00 = fair. If less than 10pcs/C$1, it's too expensive. If more than 10 pcs/C$1, it's a good deal. Usually it will be about 7~8pcs/C$1.00. So take the # of pieces then divide by 10 should be a good price. eg. #42078 Mack Anthem, 2595 pcs, reg = C$230, sale = $190 (great price) eg. #42082 Rough Terrain Crane, 4057 pcs, reg = C$350 = fair price, $300 would be a great price eg. #42069 Extreme Adventure, 2382 pcs, reg = C$240, I got it at C$160 a year ago. So if you like a set, keep your eye on the price few times a week then pull the trigger when it goes on sale; they ALL go on sale eventually but NOT a permanent mark-down. |
