For example, my trilogy set for Federico Fellini would ultimately be:
Federico Fellini 1. La Dolce Vita 1960 2. 8 1/2 1963 3. Juliet Of The Spirits 1965 ![]() Director Federico Fellini having a jovial moment with actress Claudia Cardinale during the making of his 1963 masterwork 8 1/2 (1963). |

Well, Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive and Wild at Heart would be my three favourite films from Lynch, but this box set (that I own) makes more sense thematically (including my 2nd, 4th and 7th favourite Lynch films):

A box set of Mr. Arkadin, Touch of Evil and The Trial. I even have a title in mind: "Yeah Citizen Kane was great, but he blew it away several times in his career, you know...."

Oh god, this is turning out to be MUCH more difficult than I thought!
![]() Nicolas Winding Refn: -- The Neon Demon -- Drive -- Only God Forgives I hate to pick his last three films, and to ignore Bronson, but if I were going to choose three to own, those would be the three. I also still need to see the Pusher films. So, there's that. I tried to start with David Fincher, but there was no way I was going to be able to get it down to three. Just. No. Way. ![]() |

For me, where is Fight Club (one of the greatest endings in the history of cinema IMO), or Gone Girl (so much damned fun, and a great performance by Pike ... and Ben, for that matter, and everyone else involved)? |

Quentin Tarantino:
1. Pulp Fiction 2. Inglorious Basterds 3. The Hateful Eight For fun since we're on the topic of Fincher here's mine: 1. Fight Club 2. Gone Girl (doesn't get the credit it deserves) 3. Zodiac (same as Gone Girl) I could go on and on with all my favorite directors but I ultimately decided on Tarantino. Last edited by MassiveMovieBuff; 11-25-2016 at 10:00 PM. |
