Red face Movies (or TV shows) with 2-disc color cases?

I’m trying to hunt down some color DVD cases, and there is a lot less to find new these days, than even a few years ago. It’s not too difficult to find slim cases, or single-disc cases, but regular 14mm double cases, black and clear are the only choices left. So I figured I’d try to hunt down old movies for my case needs.

The only movie I can remember having two discs in a color case was Eight Crazy Nights, which shipped in a blue case. I was also looking for the following colors:

Pink
Purple
Yellow
Teal
Green

It’s proven useless, trying to Google this project. Any help is appreciated.

The Lord of the Rings DVDs all came in colored 2-disc cases.
Fellowship of the Ring had a green case
The Two Towers had a copper-brown case
Return of the King had a dark blue case

I have the first two of these. The brown plastic for the Two Towers case is the kind with the fine metallic powder in it, so it shimmers a bit in the light. It's an exceptionally sturdy case. The Fellowship case either has a lot less of this metallic powder, or it just blends in with the green so evenly that it's unnoticeable. It's a very earthy green color. Not at all like the green of The Incredible Hulk blu-ray case.

There was a two-disc "Re-Animator" release which had a green case. I don't know what shade of green you want, that one is kind of neony; it fits the movie but wouldn't necessarily fit your desire. Also note that it's bigger than a single disc, it's not one of those slim doubles.

Those were such great releases (not to mention the extended cut releases). I miss the days studios put so much effort into physical releases.

Anastasia had a 2-disc clear, teal case for one of its early releases. Here's some photos eBay.

Thank you!

Yeah, neon colours aren’t right for the set. Thank you to everyone who helped!

I just got Peter Pan Live! at Dollar Tree, it's in a white DVD case that holds a DVD & CD.

I know white isn't one of the colors you're looking for but Dollar Tree has lots of DVDs and quite a few of them are 2 Disc sets.

Just off the top of my head:

Peter Pan Live!
Hobo With A Shotgun
Legit Season 1
Superman & Friends

You ''might'' be able to find something there. All the ones I've bought so far have been new - NOT used. Most of them are non eco cases (some are, but you can tell the difference).

And - just a dollar!

Weird, I found Sound of Music Live! basically new at Goodwill the other day. Even at just $2, I couldn't bring myself to buy it. Now I wonder if there was some recent clearinghouse of NBC's stock of unsold DVDs.

Thank you for the tips, and I hope people continue posting in this thread. Future nerds should be able to reference some sort of resource for this overlooked facet of DVD ephemera.

So this is the project I'm working on. These are quick and dirty photos, once it's complete with proper cases and the 5th season (coming in July,) I'll probably give 'em a more glamourous shoot.

The Broad City releases lend themselves entirely to colourful cases. It isn't just the artwork on the covers; the pastels are integral to the look of the show itself. Especially with season 1, these releases clearly have a lot of love poured into them by the show's creators. They should be given cases better than boring black to compliment them.

I firmly believe that, had these come out a decade before, in the waning years of DVD's heyday, they'd have been issued in colourful cases. As it is, we were lucky to get them in a physical release at all. Only one season was released on Blu-ray (2, along with 3, unofficially.)

I found a yellow case with the film The Secret Life of Bees. A good shade of yellow, not quite neon-borderline-green, but vibrant. It also has the hinges for a disc flapper, but did not have a flapper. I'm using a clear flapper from a discarded eco case. Sadly, however...

...this is an eco case, as well. Hopefully, some day, I will find a proper yellow case, and it'll be a double.

Season 2, I would prefer teal, but blue also works. Maybe someday I'll find one. I got this from Jeff Foxworthy Show season 1 (shudder.)

A pink case from Legally Blonde 2. Not a double case, doesn't have hinges for a flapper, so the flapper from the stock case just sits sadly loose in there. The most in need to be replaced. I found a double pink, from I think a Strawberry Shortcake release? But it was hot neon, and had glitter embedded in it, which is NOT the Broads' aesthetic at all!!

Season four has a black and white motif, so I went with white, which are relatively easy to find. The Comeback shipped in a double white case, but I got this one from some anime release a friend had (sorry, I don't remember the name... I'll edit it in if I ever find out. I still have it around here somewhere, I think.) I also found that Sex and the City: The Movie has a white case with a hinge for a flapper. You'll likely find at least one or two white cases at any Goodwill or pawn shop.

I won't know what I'll need for season 5 until it's in my hands. These colours coordinate with those on the front and back covers, and spines. Funny enough, every friend whom I've told of this project, will later message me, unsolicited, of cases they've spotted. There's a real scavenger hunt appeal to it, considering these friends are otherwise not nerds whatsoever.

Wow, that is a lot of dedication to the project.

I was wondering why you were looking for 2-disc cases.

I was cleaning some shelves this weekend, and I noticed that "Wonder Showzen" season 1 has a yellow double-disc case, and it's not an eco.

For blue, I was going to mention the live-action "Tick" show with Patrick Warburton, but it looks as if you already found that.
