Resident evil apoc not playing

I recently rented resident evil apocolypse on blu ray and popped it in my BDP-S300 and i got a "can't read disc" message.. so i figured being that it s a new release i needed updated firmware. I went online got the firmware.. installed it, my set up now reads 3.70 version.. but i still get the same message! im sending the disc back but its strange, the disc looks emmaculate.

Anyone run across a similar problem?

I am not 100% sure but I think that player cannot play profile 1.1 titles. However I could be WAY off base here since I only use a PS3 for the time being. Anybody else have that player here?

There are a ton of those players out there and this is the first i have heard about it being an issue with this title. Could the disk have been minutely warped? Who knows. I'm not big on rental disks. Damaged disks can screw up the laser alignment on your player.

Maybe there was something wrong with the disc. As far as I know, profile 1.1 discs will play in a 1.0 player, bonus view excluded of course.

Mine wouldn't play in my ps3 until after about the 4th time trying it, and I recently had my copy of the fugitive not play in my PS3 no matter what I do. I would say its prolly the disc itself, but you never know. I think we would have heard more complaining on the board if this movie wont play in any S300.

Apocalypse is not a 1.1 title, your confusing it with extiction (cant spell )

Thanks for the help, i havent had any other issues with other titles.. so when i get a new copy of the movie ill post the results. Im just a little suprised because ive been really happy with the player so far.
