Default Gravity Rush 2 - PS4 Exclusive

Sony has announced Gravity Rush 2 for PlayStation 4. The sequel was announced quietly a couple of years ago at the Tokyo Game Show but with no platform attached.

Gravity Rush 2 will arrive sometime next year and appears to have co-op, judging by a trailer shown at the 2015 Tokyo Game Show this morning. Otherwise the flying, third-person action mayhem of Gravity Rush is intact, and in impressive colour and style.

Sony also announced that Gravity Rush 1, a Vita game we loved, will come to PS4 as well. It will be released 10th December in Japan.

No Vita, it's switched to console only. Seems Vita is dead to Sony

I haven't had a reason to play mine in over a year.

Well Vita in Japan and Vita outside of Japan are 2 very different things. America and Europe is mostly either localizations of some pretty interesting JRPGs, couple of Visual Novels and indie PSN games.

So either putting it as PS4 exclusive for the people outside of Japan and just not bothering to make a Vita version or perhaps it may have to do with the controls of the game.

Trend suggests Vita sales in Japan alone make up half of all units sold worldwide. Truth, Sony doesn't want current numbers shown in America. I don't blame them. Sources from Wiki site that Sony's focus for Vita now is for it to be a peripheral, including one for the upcoming Morpheus.

As per the game, I'm happy GR2 is coming out for the PS4 but I question if we will get a physical copy.

Never played the first one but it seems like a fun game. Very colorful.

Nice! The first one on Vita was great, but a bit hard to play with those little analog nubs (it felt like a console game wedged into a handheld, at least for me). I'm just glad that the series was well-received enough to deserve a crack at a bigger budgeted ps4 game with all the resources that switch provides.

Next year (or 2017, after what seems like the inevitable 6-month delay for every game) is looking good.

Saw this earlier today! Very excited about the remaster, and the sequel! GD1 is one of my favorite vita games! Can't wait to go for the platinum on the ps4 version!

I'm so damned excited for this game. I'm even thinking of importing the Hong Kong version of the Gravity Rush remaster to get it in December (it has English subtitles).

During GameSpot’s E3 live coverage, Gravity Rush 2 Producer Nick Accordino gave a couple of interesting pieces of information on the game.

We learn that the while story of the Gravity Rush series was completed before the first game came out. The first Gravity Rush was always supposed to be the first half of the story, and the team has always been planning a sequel with the second part. Figuring out what to do with the PS4 caused the second part to take a little longer to be realized into an actual game.

On top of that, according to Accordino (pun not intended), Gravity Rush 2 is the conclusion of Kat’s story, even if it’s impossible for now to say whether the IP will continue afterwards in some form or not.

Last, but not least, Accordino promised a release this year, and mentioned that more info will come in the next few weeks.
