Smile PS3 40GB is AWESOME

just hooked it up tonight. Didn't play any games yet but watched a movie. Super easy to set up, great PQ and SQ even through my older receiver and optical cord. (haven't set up the Onkyo 705 yet).
Very quite and cool as well.

I may not even bother opening up my Panasonic BD30 and may return it, but the 5 extra free movies from best buy last week is tempting me to keep it as well.

Already updated to version 2.10 from a flashdrive. super easy.

Best of all got the $100 off credited to my sony card account after only a few days.

Definitely a keeper! Now to decide about the Panny!!

Yeah the PS3 is an awesome player, the only reason i sold it was because i didn't play anymore, it wasn't IR compatible (full ON and OFF), use 130W vs 25 when playing movie (Winter here so $$$$$ electricity LOL), and wanted to bitstream all audio to my new Denon 3808...

But it's a very nice player, enought tought i got a few hitch with Sunshine, the only title i ever saw glitch on the PS3. All titles work great..

I got the 80GB model and use it for Blu-ray and games, I wasn't too sure about the 40GB though. I made the mistake of buying mine, literally just a few weeks before the price drop, so naturally I felt a little ripped off. It's been a great investment so far.

It is, without a doubt the most feature packed, best performing, fun piece of gear I bought in a long time. Enjoy!

I bought my 60 gig PS3 exactly a month (which means no refunds) before they offered 5 BDs free and dropped the price. But oh well, thats life

I never call it a game console, I call it my "HD Entertainment Center".

I got a PS3 40GB a couple of days ago, and I LOVE it!!! I was hesitant to buy it 'cause I don't play video games, but it was definitely worth it! It was so easy to set up. The Blu-rays play amazingly. Plus it's featured with all kinds of other neat tricks. The best part is... it's future proof! I don't have to worry about movies not working. Yay!
