XBOX Original DVD Drive won't open - Blu-ray Forum

I got this out of storage and now the drive won't open. last I played it was a year ago and everything was fine.

Does this mean the drive might be dead and I need to get another one or I won't know until I open it up?

Drives can fail and or stick for a number of reasons. Do you have a red light on the front of the xbox when you press the eject button? Do you hear any noises? Sometimes Drives just get stuck. Try pressing eject while applying some pressure to the drive to see if you can help pop it open.

It is just the green light and I've tried to open it while I pressed the button to eject but that didn't work. I'll have to buy a Torx set since mine is in storage though I should have looked for it but didn't think I would need to open this up.

Looked at it some more today since I am off and it looks like I need a new belt. Any ideas of how to get a replacement belt? I don't know anything of how to look for one.

u can order whole bags of belts off ebay/aliexpress from china.
