Default Longstreet The Complete Series (12/01/17) VEI

From TVshowsonDVD.com

Quote:
Following a bomb blast that leaves him blind and a widower, New Orleans insurance detective Mike Longstreet (James Franciscus) refuses to quit the business. Together with the help of his dog Pax, assistant Nikki and friend Duke, Longstreet continues to investigate thefts, kidnappings and murders.

The series launched as a 90-minute "ABC Movie of the Week." "Longstreet" was created by Oscar winner Stirling Silliphant (In the Heat of The Night), and also featured Marlyn Mason ("Ben Casey") as Nikki, Peter Mark Richman ("Dynasty"), and Ann Doran ("National Velvet"). Bruce Lee made four guest appearances as Longstreet's martial arts teacher.

In 1971, the series earned an Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Film Editing for Entertainment Programming - For a Special or Feature Length Program Made for Television. DVD includes all 23 episodes + TV Movie!

Last week marked the two-year anniversary of our first heads-up report that VEI (Visual Entertainment, Inc.) had gotten the rights from CBS to put out the 1971 TV series onto DVD. Fans have waited and waited for these discs, and yesterday afternoon VEI made their formal announcement for it.

Longstreet - The Complete Series will contain the pilot telefilm and all 23 regular weekly episodes. It's priced at $29.99 SRP, and below is package art and a pre-order button link to buy your copy from VEI's online studio store. It begins shipping on Friday, December 1st...just two weeks from today! Our thanks to the MANY readers who emailed us about this item overnight; we appreciate it.

I remember this series quite fondly--so glad to see it liberated.

I remember watching this when I was a kid and I was mad when there weren't more episodes. I've always liked James Franciscus as an actor.
