Figured this may come, especially since Capcom was doing an event in Monster Hunter World for Megaman.

Always challenging games.

The Mega Man Legacy games on Switch help somewhat ease the frustration that no VC games are available on the system. Hope we get more retro game collection on the Switch.

Takes place in the far future of the Mega Man universe. Stories are a little darker, kinda have a 'humankind clinging to life' setting.

Mega Man X can stick to and jump up walls. Has a dash instead of a slide move. The 8 Robot Masters are modeled after wild animals instead of all being "Man". Special weapons can be charged up to do different, usually bigger things than just shooting the weapon. Whereas Mega Man starts with a full size health bar, Mega Man X starts with a small one and collects Heart Tanks to expand it. Mega Man X starts out each game looking a lot like a taller, slightly more detailed version of regular Mega Man, but collects 4 pieces of armor over the course of the game that give him a more futuristic look. Rather than collecting and using E-tanks, Mega Man X gets permanent, refillable E-tanks. The Energy Balancer: does not exist in Mega Man 1-5, is an extra item in Mega Man 6-10, and is a standard power in all Mega Man X games.

And...a different graphical style. On the whole its larger and more explosive.

I’m a much bigger fan of classic but will be picking this up both to show support for Mega Man and because I have to played some of the later games in the series.

I think this might very well be a test run to see if a X9 makes financial sense for Capcom.

I would personally be very interested in a Mega Man Legends collection.

They're all side-scrollers. X7 has a few 3D sections but that's it. All the others are full-time 2D/Side+vertical scrollers.

Love the X series, far more than vanilla MM. Had all these games on their original systems but sold then before the PS2 collection came out. Bought this for the Xbone.

Pardon the necrothreading but playing some of this made me want to share some thoughts on X Challenge.

Difficulty settings are a bit out of whack: One change of the setting sends it from pushover easy to nasty hard, with the highest setting feeling close to impossible. I'd've added another setting between the first 2 that reflected the "canonical" in game difficulty of the bosses.

I also dislike that only the specific weakness weapon from the same game as the boss triggers a high damage / freak reaction type of result. I would have made it so any weapon of the matching element would function that way (ie: The Rising Fire from Mega Man X4 would do high damage and cause a freak-reaction to Frost Walrus, Chill Penguin, Morph Moth, and various others).
