Hirokazu Kore-eda Not on Blu-ray

I was hoping Shoplifters would get a Blu-ray release (unlike Hirokazu Kore-eda's previous release Like Father, Like Son, and according to this announcement) but I am disappointed it's only getting a DVD release on February 12. I like physical media (to have and to hold) and a DVD is better than no release. I'm still hoping for an eventual Blu-ray release.

It is getting a Blu-ray release in the UK from Thunderbird Releasing. Probably will be Region B locked.:

But the film is also getting a Blu-ray release in Japan by Pony Canyon, but I am pretty sure it will not have English subtitles.

I thought it was nice to see that Shoplifters is now available to stream on Hulu.

I am still waiting out for US blu-ray releases of his films.
