No & NO

Fox would NEVER go hddvd because of region coding & BD+
Warner said at CES, NO they did not get a dime for going blu.

When asked about a payoff, one of the Warner execs said, "I wish." That's good enough for me.

I'm starting to think more and more that Fox was playing HD-DVD all along so that we could get the complete FUBAR that we saw at CES.

Anyone asked the folks at Gizmodo if they're going to be allowed at CES next year?

the guy doesnt know sh!t - and even if part of it is true, what works for the other camp with Paramounted works with us. Big business is always run by crookedness somewhere in the organization.

After the stupidity with the TV's that Gizmondo pulled at CES, I will no longer take thier reporting seriously.

Even if Warner was paid.. It does not matter. Its Over. 70% of the studios support Blue, .. there is no way HD-DVD can posible survive.

If they did I'm not mad at 'em for it. Now if Payoffs made an inferior technology win(HD-DUD)I would be mad. The thing that's appalling is to think that people are so dumb or greedy that they need to be paid to let a superior technology triumph. Why do they want to put a governor on the natural evolution of a better product?

Were you thinking they did it out of the kindness of their hearts? In the interest of consumers? Greed drives every big business deal. The war is over and that is all that matters.

I'm pretty sure the WB rep that claimed there were no payouts is lying through his teeth, but what else do you expect from big corporate execs? Honesty and transparency?

Absolutely NOT to this question. There is NO WAY FOX would consider going to HD-DVD. Warner already denied this flat out. It's just red spin, and Engadget tends to lean that way more often than not.

I know, it's just aggravating But to be truly efficiently greedy wouldn't they have to support a tech that won't be out dated as fast?

I think Warner may have gone HD-DVD but Fox played Toshiba...

there is no security with HD-DVD...why would they ever go to a format where it would take at least 6 months to produce a movie on?..

they can't even release them because they need to manufacture them with whatever security HD-DVD would come out with..which doesn't even exist to this day...

bull
shit

They are reporting on a "rumour" original started by a HD-DVD propaganda site (campaignhd.com). Go check the source first and it becomes very clear. Even if BDA paid Warner, at least they made the right decision to join the winning side and help things along the way instead of prolonging the war.

I was just like WTF when i saw this, but i dont trust Giz or this guy because why would someone tell this guy in Philadelphia, out of all the places. I would suspect Hollywood or New York or maybe MIAMI, but not the city of "Brotherly love" lol

This whole "Fox nearly going HD DVD" thing is just a DUD boy's wet dream. Keep in mind RESULTS do NOT matter to dud boys. The only thing that matters to them are IFs or pure hypotheticals. Actualities and results don't matter to them. Sales numbers do not matter to them. Manufacturer and studio does not matter to them.

Seriously, you really have to question the thinking capacity on several levels of anyone who is an HD DVD fanboy today.

But we were *****ing on how scummish Paramount was for taking the Toshiba deal. So what makes us different? Is it because we have more support? Is it because this is Blu-ray.com?
