DEVDAS blu-ray released - Blu-ray Forum

The DEVDAS blu-ray was released by BitWel, a Taiwanese studio. The video quality of this blu-ray seems not very good, but it's still better than the DEVDAS DVD. Because DEVDAS DVD's video quality is pretty bad.
The aspect ratio of the blu-ray is 2.40:1, but the DVD is full screen 1.78:1. The price of the blu-ray is less than US$10, it's cheap, and it's also one of the reason that I have bought 12 BitWel's blu-ray titles.

According to one of my fellow, Don't even think about buying that sxxt!
He bought from jsdvd(taiwan Blu-tay online store) that and said. "It's DISASTEROUS!"

If I were you, I'll never that Blu-ray
It's so ashame.

Due to the "DEVDAS" DVD is too bad, so you might feel "DEVDAS" blu-ray is good. But if you compare DEVDAS blu-ray with other Hollywood DVD, like "Dark Knight", this DEVDAS blu-ray's video quality is worse than "Dark Knight" DVD. So, if you haven't seen "DEVDAS" DVD before, you won't accept "DEVDAS" blu-ray's video quality. So you had better wait for another good transfer for "DEVDAS" blu-ray unless you would like to see the difference of "blu-ray" vs "DVD".

I have DEVDAS DVD and Blu-ray. I bought DEVDAS DVD from retail store 5 years ago, and purchased Blu-ray release from JSDVD. It's US$9.3 if you purchased from JSDVD, but you need to pay extra "Shipping" cost! And it would take 7 - 10 days for the shipping.

I just used google to search whether there is another version of devdas blu-ray, and shocked by what I saw from

the devdas blu-ray is exact the same as the one I bought. But the list price shows £ 29.99 which is almost $48, but it's only $9.3 from jsdvd. The price seems too high.

Till now, I couldn't find out there is any other devdas blu-ray release except this taiwanese release, so I can't compare this blu-ray with that blu-ray on the product spec point of view. People would like to have a good devdas blu-ray release, should be patient for a while.

we have to import it from asia and pay customs and duty hence price ,its the same version you have.

plus uk is sterling and very expensive to import to and ship out of.Its classed as an import from asia .

It was noted earlier that iTunes took it down from their store, just popped in to let y’all know it’s back up! And perfect timing cause with the new Apple TV coming out I decided to get it so I could get some titles that aren’t available on Bluray. It’s only $2.99 right now.

inspite of having the streaming version of Devdas, i risked buying the taiwanese blu-ray of Devdas. Yo man, it is definitely a dvd upscale stored on a 25 gb BD with dolby 5.1. Wasted 1500 Rupees on it but still happy as there is NO other bluray copy of it as yet although the stream versions are much better.

That sucks.. I too was a victim of that horrible Blu ray. A lot of people wrote their experience son this website. It’s a shame you didn’t have a chance come across one of them. Even the cover art is horrible. I threw mine in the trash

I purchased this movie from the iTunes store, and sadly it seems it is badly encoded, there are motion problems in a lot of places, I just checked one song and I could reproduce the same frame skips while replaying some parts so it is nothing to do with the network.

Now to figure out how to ask for a refund.

The Eros version via Amazon video looks better and doesn't have this issue, but it's not available for sale.
