Are you asking if there is a way to get a UPC without a PS3 box? You could always ask someone to give you theirs but you will also need a valid receipt, I believe.

You could get it from a portion of the box.

But,.. it would have to be a portion of the box that has the UPC on it.

It might be easier to just buy 5 Blu Rays.

no, im guessing he is asking if there is any way of getting the upc wihtout the ps3 box, because he threw out the box and didnt realize he could get 5 blus with the upc until AFTER. and the answer to the question is: no.

The OP, in another thread, stated that they wanted to get the five free Blu-ray movies that was being offered. However, the OP bought the PlayStation 3 at launch when the deal was not being offered and has probably thrown out their PlayStation 3 box.

Since we're on the topic of PS3's and the promotion, can you guys help me out with my question? I'm in a unique situation. I have a UK PS3 imported into the US. Will the UPC code from that work with the promotion? I wonder how they check the codes.

The regions have their own set of numbers within the UPC codes. By scanning the UPC code they can track the product. That is if they do due diligence.

Scan UPC.

Print at proper size using hi-rez print on semi-glossy paper.

Cut out UPC from said paper.

Slightly crumple the UPC, then flatten it back out again.

Glue onto a piece of cardboard and trim the finished product with scissors or a box cutter.

Viola... "authentic" PS3 UPC.

Ha Ha,... Like I said,.. it may be easier just to buy 5 Blu Rays. The titles in the 5 free promotion ought to be available cheaply used on the bay.

Nah... it only takes about 5 minutes. I had to do this for my TiVo rebate a year ago when my housekeeper accidentally threw the box away before I cut out the UPC. My brother had just bought one, so I borrowed his UPC before he sent it in, and got my rebate w/o a problem.

I, of course, do NOT condone this if you are not legitimately eligible for the rebate. But sometimes sh*t happens and you gotta get creative.
