Can't wait! Never caught it in theatres.

Given this is FilmRise the chances are very high that this will be a Blu Ray-R release.

Really can’t wait to see this! The graphic novel is one of my faves from the last few years. Derf is from Ohio and I got to meet him when I worked at CXC a couple years ago.

I caught this in theaters and will get the blu-ray. It's a good coming of age film. 3.5/5

I read the graphic novel MFD several times over the years - it was extremely disturbing/sickening, but at the same time I couldn't put it down. The artwork by Derf Backderf is great - I remember his art from various City Papers in the late '90's, and he brings a humor & also grotesque element to whatever he draws.

I'm not sure I'll like the film as much since it's live action, but I'll probably see it anyway. I don't see how it will be as good as the source material graphic novel, however.

Sadly I agree. I was really looking forward to this but I just felt like it was relatively uneventful and boring.

Pretty much. I don't see what the big hoopla was with this film. Nothing even happens. I'd probably buy this if I find it really cheap in a bargain bin or something one day but until then, I don't really need this.

I wish FilmRise would have been able to put more promotional push into this. Ross Lynch, who I had never heard of before this gave one of the best performances of the year. Absolutely incredible. I'm ALSO wondering what the difference is between the 3/5 release and the 4/10 release that I preordered.

I wish FilmRise would license their titles out to some other company like Shout! Factory or someone for home video. I wouldn't mind getting this, but very weary of spending much money on BD-R.

I reached out to FilmRise regarding the two different releases, and this was the response I got: "If you look closer, you will see that one is a special edition with lots of bonus features." This is literally the entirety of the reply. So apparently the "Special Edition" is coming out before the standard edition. No need for double-dipping!

Interestingly, a second email came saying that one will be BD-R and one will be an actual manufactured disc. Unfortunately, the e-mail did not specify which release will be BD-R and which will be a true pressing.

I went ahead and preordered the special edition. You’d think that that would be the pressed version but I suppose we’ll see!
