Saw IV Already Out?

I Was at my local Best Buy yesterday picking up a copy of Good Luck Chuck and noticed about 10 copies of SAW IV on Blu on the shelf, of course they didnt let me buy it. They said it was against the law. Wtf?

Someone probably messed up and started placing them on the shelves. They're just lazy and don't want to put them back into the stock room and wait until the 22nd to put them back on the shelves.

And what they said was true, if they sold Saw IV to you and broke the street date they would receive heavy penalties.

I wonder if they plan on telling every consumer they can't buy it yet even though its on the shelf. I won't be surprised if one of their employees suffers a heart attack while answering stupid questions

It's against the law to put copies on the shelves before the oficial releasedate. Better tell them that, cause they obviously don't know squad and are breaking the rules themselves. Putting copies on the shelves means they are ready to be bought

Its not "against the law" to sell or put movies on a shelf before a release date. What it is, is a violation of contract. Its not something the local police are going to step in for.

You don't need the local police to step in for something like that. A violation of contract is something that is punishable by law if the studio choses so.

I think its because they want have an accurate idea of how many were sold on the release day or week. Thats what they told at BB when I used to work there.

Nah, they only had blu ray out...My Walmart has done it alot lately...3:10, Rush Hour 3, WAR, Resident Evil, and now Game Plan...Is there really a $10 coupon?
