Vanessa Lutz' life is a mess. Her mother, a prostitute, and father, an abusive drunk, have been hauled off to jail. With nowhere to live, Vanessa has no choice but to move in with her grandmother. Hitting the road to granny's house, she quickly encounters the silver-tongued Bob Wolverton, who offers to give her a lift. However, what Vanessa doesn't realize is that Bob is the notorious I-5 Killer; a vicious murderer who preys on young, female hitchhikers, and soon finds herself face-to-face with a real "Big Bad Wolf." Watched it only a few years ago for the first time, but it became one of my favorites from 90s. Glad it's getting an UHD.

Major wishlist item for me (see list below), so I've already placed my order. And went with the limited slipcover since it was only a few bucks more.

Not overly thrilled with Vinegar getting it because their releases tend to run too hot for my eyes. Regardless, there's no way I could pass this up. With a never-before-released unrated cut, I couldn't order it fast enough.

Never watched this movie, but I'm getting it. Reese Witherspoon...mid-90s...can't say no!! I placed my order as well with slip-cover. I don't know if Vinegar Syndrome reads posts from here, but I hope they lower their color saturation with these releases. I watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 from them and I had to lower the color on my tv to make it look less hot.

Even if the compression is so-so or skin tones run boiling red, this will still be a massive improvement over the current HD master making the rounds digitally.

Not only is Multicom's HD transfer in crappy mono, but it was also sourced from a badly battered and faded release print!

Saw this when it first came out on video in '96. Don't remember much and haven't seen it since but I do recall this was Reese Witherspoon at her hottest. I'll probably pick this up.

This is a great, great movie. A dark, twisted take on Little Red Riding Hood.. but with a clever comedic darkness that's never truly been given its due... can't really think of another film quite like it. It's truly amazing that Reese Witherspoon pulled this off so well, but that's a testament to her ability. The film is a must if you've never experienced it. Reese and co-star Alanna Ubach met on this film and worked together again in Legally Blonde... all of them in fact. I believe they have remained friends for the duration. Alanna is also great in the film as always.

I've been hoping for years this would get a release and finally uncut as well.

I don't know what or how much was cut. But there is one major obvious cut when Reese is on the car with him and he asks personal and vulgar questions and one in particular is missing since it jumps from him beginning to ask a question and to her offended reaction that really sets her off.
