I like it...but I can't figure out their eclectic releases.

The thing pre/sequel, now this.

Maybe we'll get lucky and we’ll finally give us a Road House steel since walmart has wheel of random turning with decent art.

This release does include both the theatrical and extended cuts, which is a first.

As this is a Mill Creek release of a Universal title like the 2011 The Thing, maybe Mill Creek & Universal have gone into some sort of agreement to release certain titles in SteelBook form?

You probably got me there. I would have sworn one of those was a paramount title.

I pre-ordered but will keep sealed and wait for reviews. I know 88 Films is supposedly doing a 4K release, but wanted this in case that version only includes one cut

Might cave and get it for both versions, but I really want the 88 Films 4K too! Kind of crazy that Mill Creek is doing seamless branching, hope it turns out okay.

Strange announcement. This is one of my fave movies so I will support this release. But I’m really looking forward to the 4K release.

I hope this is a sign that both cuts are coming on the eventual 4K.

Given the way it was shot would this really benefit from a 4K disc?

I know it was discussed in another Miami Vice thread, but I think it's something along the lines of Collateral. Where the improvement won't be jaw dropping, but there will be some benefit.

Why couldn’t this be a 4K release?

Might be a US rights issue.

88 Films is working on a 4K release.

Because this is a Mill Creek release. Universal will be handling the UHD release themselves.

Ive been waiting for a steelbook for this movie for years, and it is finally here.

And since this is Mill Creek releasing this, that might mean there is a chance they will give the 80s series the steelbook treatment.

Updated the release date to May 16. The page for this on Walmart shows delivery by Fri Mar 3, which is somewhat soon.

The main SteelBook page for all releases says, "Preorder now, Ships by May 16," which makes more sense as it is a Tuesday.

If they sell this in store, I would love to get it. This would be an upgrade over my current DVD.
