Found it on Amazon for pre-order...
https://www.amazon.com/Magnificent-S...69c31e0b2eb6a2 --edit-- I just went back to make sure I didn't add my account to the link above and I saw that the forums automatically added it's own referral. Pretty smart coding guys! Last edited by RealorFake4K; 09-23-2016 at 10:20 PM. |

It pays homage to both the original source material, Akira Kurisawa's Seven Samurai, as well as the original American retelling, The Magnificent Seven. More of the latter than the former in tone, however. Unfortunately, they had Chris Pratt act a little too modern for a period piece. |

I think the whole film is anamorphic 35mm (still nice, aren't enough 4K releases which were shot on film). IMAX hasn't put any marketing about it being shot with IMAX cameras, I didn't see it in IMAX but someone who did said it was scope throughout instead of IMAX ratio, IMDB's tech specs (albeit unreliable right around release) list it as just 35mm negative format, and in an interview I could find the director just mentions shooting on anamorphic film.
