Default Hanna-Barbera cartoons on the US store

I was about to buy some of the Hanna-Barbera shows yesterday but saw that Huckleberry Hound the Complete Series had only 7 blocks with two shorts on each.

Why is there so few and why are they claiming it is “complete”?

Also Warner Bros have separated Atom Ant and Secret Squirrel. Atom Ant still has its companion shorts but Secret Squirrel has more episodes than are supposed to exist. Or have they included cartoons for a different character?

And most importantly can anyone confirms that the Yogi Bear Show Seasons 1 & 2 contain all the Snagglepuss cartoons and any other cartoons that that aired with it originally? There is a Snagglepuss Complete Series but no pint in buying it and Yogi Bear if they are already included.

And where is Quick Draw McGraw? Warner Bros. need to show these and Looney Toons some real love.

A bit more research answered my Secret Squirrel question.

I don’t remember the companion cartoons on Atom Ant/Secret Squirrel and have no memory of it being an hour long block. Maybe it wasn’t aired that way in Ireland.

So the Secret Squirrel question is answered.

The snagglepuss shorts are all included in the yogi bear show complete set. Just depends if you want to pull them out separately. I’ve been trying to decide the same thing on Wally Gator.

Decent break down here (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...ra_Productions)

Looks like Atom Ant/Secret Squirrel are complete based on titles (though I didn’t watch them yet). Seems odd to have subsets of episodes (like snagglepuss, Wally gator, and Great Ape) listed as complete.

Trying to collected the 70s series that aired on USA Cartoon Express. Get Hong Kong Phooey and Jabberjaw if you haven’t yet. I was hoping Roman Holidays dropped to $4.99.

Waiting for Dynomutt, Speed Buggy, and the rest of Captain Caveman to get added.

The link is appreciated but I had already gone through Wikipedia and other cation websites and it was all very confusing.

Been decides since I’ve seen these cartoons so I had forgot that each of these shows had companion shorts and was going to get Snagglepuss set until I check the Yogi Bear Show episodes were the full set.

If there was a Yogi collection (all his solo cartoons not the treasure hunts etc. ) then I would take the Snagglepuss set too but the Yogi Bear Show is how I would have seen these as a kid. So that is preferred.

I decided against Atom Ant and Secret Squirrel. I only remember these in name only and a brief look at the preview clips told me that I wouldn’t watch them and neither would my kids or my sister’s kids. I would have watched these back them but Top Cat, Yogi, El Kabong, Huckleberry are the ones I adored. I did get Hong King Phooey because I know I was really into it but remember nothing at all about it. And I got The Perils of Penelope Pitstop too.

Cutting back on what ones I was getting was also about the money. I do spend a lot on iTunes and more than I would on discs - there is something about the fact that the movies and shows are not occupying space in the house has that makes me lack control about spending money.

Wally Gator is a show I don’t remember at all.

I can see the sense in releasing sets for some characters who would be popular enough to stand on their own (like Snagglepuss) but you can’t cut the segment from whatever show they were originally a part of.

The releases do seem very haphazard like Looney Tunes. Why so few Huckleberry Hound shorts? Where is the film show with Yogi?

I can’t even wrap my head around Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry? Does iTunes have them all? Are they episodes censored?

I use the link to get a sense of timing more than anything. There is a time frame of HB that I much prefer. Drops off significantly in the 80s for me.

There are definitely missing Huckleberry Hound episodes. My dvd set (https://www.amazon.com/Huckleberry-H...dp/B000AOEMU0/) has 20 episodes

I prefer to release the shows as they were aired. So The Yogi Bear Show versus the separate parts. So no need to separate the Snagglepuss parts. As far as I can tell Atom/Squirrel contain all of the parts.

As as side note, and not HB, but Pink Panther was released as episodes with original intros and music including the Inspector and Ant/Aardvark shorts. I prefer it that way, but many prefer the Netflix style of skipping intro and just watching the shorts.

Surely Huckleberry Hound has more solo cartoons than 20 though.

Yes I like the idea of seeing them in the original episodes too.

Are you pointing that it about Pink Panther because including the intros is unusual? Do Hanna-Barbera not have intros ?

I just like the live action PP open. Both Ant and Squirrel have intros. Guessing Snagglepuss and Wally Gator won’t because they are just the single short of a three character episode.

Typo on HH, 26 episodes. That’s just season 1
