All of Barnaby Jones has been transferred to HD by CBS/Paramount. All episodes uncut. Unfortunately VEI were not willing to pay for access to these versions for their dvd, so they took and put out the syndicated cut versions.
CBS could easily outsource this and all of the Quinn Martin shows. |

Sorry, I just checked the CBS syndication bible and it says only season 1 is HD. If anyone else can say if that is still the case, please advise.

That's interesting about VEI not willing to pay for the uncut versions of all of the episodes. Was this the case with Jake and the Fatman as well, because with Barnaby Jones you can tell (the runtime aside) which episodes are the syndicated versions (there are a couple of fade-outs, not to be confused with the end of an Act, when they went to an ad break)? With Jake and the Fatman, I have only seen a couple of fade-outs and that's it. |

I'm pretty sure that VEI have only accessed syndication prints for any of their CBS dvds or blu-rays. Remember they were the company that put the David McCallum Invisible Man TV series with 13 episodes on 1 blu ray, in 16:9 and with the pilot stretched rather than widescreened.
