Rumor: Bully 2: Kevin's Back Jack

Something rather peculiar just happen. Game Informer briefly published the page for a game titled Bully 2: Kevin’s Back Jack. You can see a screen capture at the bottom of the post.

The alleged game is obviously by Rockstar, and the only platform indicated is PS4, with a “Fall” release window.

Interestingly, two players are also mentioned, but no more details were provided.

Of course, the page was quickly taken down with no explanation from the site, sparking rumors that the sequel of Rockstar’s 2006 classic Bully might indeed be announced soon.

You could check out the PS2 emulated version on PS4 (during a sale of course). They're quite fun to go back and play (uprendered to 1080p, trophies).

Game Informer only puts out fake news during Game Infarcer for April 1st, April Fool's Day. If they took it down, why was it put up in the first place is the question if the page is real. They have some kind of inside knowledge of it from the look of it. Rockstar likes to keep things quiet so they probably objected to any hints.

Fall 2017 could be November 2017 for Bully 2 PS4, XB1.

I enjoyed Bully and wouldn't mind seeing a full remaster of that tbh but given the environment Bully took place in, the logical point would be that Kevin goes to University and shenanigans ensue there that are more R rated. However, there was a complete and utter charm in Bully of being a juvenile delinquent and your ability not to kill but to antagonise people with the slingshot, smoke bombs etc. and bike away or skateboard.

Wouldn't mind playing a sequel to Bully but bope they do a remaster of the first too. Wonder where they could take the sequel and what new mechanics they'll introduce if true.

I know there are multiple Rockstar Games, but they don't seem to be pumping games out as frequently as they used to. Do they all now just work on the same game? With this update it seems some were working on RDR 2 and some on Bully 2. Some are most definitely working on GTA 6.

There's not only a version already on the 360, but you can play it on ps4 as well with full trophy support. It really doesn't need a remaster.

I'd love a Bully 2 but I fully expect this to be an unfulfilled wish.

It seem like they are working on 2 games at a time but really putting more resources into the game they plan on releasing first. RDR 2 had to be in development when they was done or close to being done with GTA 5.

I'd be interested in playing Bully 2 on PS4.

I've seen the digitsl version but there's just something better about playing an overhauled remaster vs what we currently have on store. Think of it as SoTC on PS2 vs PS4 version.

Apparently development stopped on the game.

Per The Video Games Chronicle, Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser and some of his fellow developers created a script for the sequel as early as 2008. Sources say this script contained the first scenes of the game and an outline for the rest of the story.

Bully 2 would have featured Jimmy, the main protagonist from the first game and also contain many other returning characters. It would have begun at Jimmy’s step-dad’s house during the summer at the end of a school year according to sources close to The Video Games Chronicle. This also matches some anonymous claims reported by the Bully YouTuber SWEGTA.

Between the release of Red Dead Redemption in May of 2010 and the end of 2013, there was a second-team at Rockstar New England that spent about a year and a half creating the concept for Bully 2 according to another Video Games Chronicle source.

This team was led by the art department which featured Steven Olds, Rockstar New Yorks visualization director for the first Bully as well as Drew Medina, a principal artist at Rockstar New England at the time.

Another source stated that the work they had done was enough to actually have a playable version of the game. But this was only a “small slice.” The sequel used the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE). This was the same engine that has been used for GTA 4, 5, Max Payne 3, and both Red Dead Redemption titles.

Sadly, according to the source, development never built any momentum and it just “fizzled out” and the team was moved to work on other projects.
