Yes, THAT River City. This time, Kunio and Riki (aka Alex and Ryan) are the target of vengeful gang violence and it's up to their girlfriends to fight crime and set things right.

No sign of physical release, but maybe LRG will arrange for 1?

Did they necessarily say they would only make a physical version for Switch? I read the link: LRG said they would produce a physical version, but nothing I saw specified Switch only or even mentioned any systems at all.

From what I have read, PS4 and Switch get physical copies by Limited Run while Xbox One and of course Steam do not.

Well not out yet but of course. That’s where most of the money will be made for this game since it wouldn’t be fair to most fans to keep it as Limited Run only. Though Japan and other Asian countries are getting a physical copy that may be English friendly that won’t be so limited. But not everyone wants to go that far if you can just buy it on the U.S. PSN Store.

Plus with Limited Run, they get many scalper type of buyers who buy more than 1 copy and maybe even a bunch of copies and then reselling them for a profit at more than what they paid for them.

Well technically that wasn’t the original but yes it relates to River City Ransom. However, this one is being Developed by WayForward.

There’s also a bunch of other games in the series with many being localized.

After months of production time, I got my special edition of RCG early this week and took it for a ride.

It's fun, and the fighting is deeper than I thought it would be. Anyone who used to love Double Dragon, Ninja Turtles, Streets of Rage, or others should feel right at home. It has a few nuances that make me think of Lollipop Chainsaw.

I'm especially glad that moves don't occupy inventory slots like they used to!

So according to posts from Limited Run Games and from developer WayForward, the girls will be back, and it will not be DLC for this game; it will be something new!

I'd love a direct sequel in the same genre, but I'm open to any fun game starring these 2.

Streets of Rage 4 on pS4 was awesome and exceeded my expectations. This RCG game looks like a good beat 'em up game, and an improvement over the NES original if it's based on it.

Maybe they'll make 'Super Mega Dodge Ball' and Kyoko and Misako will be players.
