Warner Bros Hanna Barbera Diamond Collection 4 Pack 4K UHD

Couldn't find much info on this, but Best Buy has a link for a 4 PK 4K UHD of the Hanna-Barbera Diamond Collection:

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hanna-b...?skuId=6132370

No info, or pictures at that link. I tried to search around the good ol Internet and could not find anything for a 4K set, but found some info on a standard diamond collection released over the summer that included the Jetsons, the Flintstones, Yogi Bear, etc.

One could assume this set will contain some of those recent releases over the summer:

http://www.toonzone.net/hanna-barber...l-summer-2017/

http://digitalchumps.com/2017/06/22/...lhd-announced/

Release Date: 11/07/2017

Price: $61.99

Never thought we'd see stuff like this on UHD.

I know it's never going to happen but if they released their Godzilla cartoon I would die. Godzooky in 4K? Forget it, life ain't getting any better after that.

With less than a month to go and no info or box art i'm fairly certain this'll get delayed.

These cartoons skipped a blu-ray release and went straight to UHD? Ok then.

I'm confused but not complaining.

Maybe, just maybe we'll see Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry in UHD? I have the BD sets but would gladly upgrade.

Good old film. Still got it.

I might be down for this, once I can see what all's on it and research. I love old animation.

I would love the entire classic Scooby-Doo series, without Scrappy of course.

How about some Johnny Quest, too!

I highly doubt it'll happen but I would love me some 4K Top Cat.

Looking at that Nausicaa listing this is more than likely a mistake.

And to think I just bought the DVD version of this (Scooby-Doo) a few weeks ago and then watched all of it with my wife in one go.

I'm a Scooby-Doo/Tom and Jerry man myself But not enough to shell out for this set. Still glad it's happening, bodes well for animated catalogue titles down the line.

Dude, you don't hafta tell me about Tom and Jerry

<-------------------------------------

But given the sensitivity towards the material by the higher-ups at Warners and the insistence of people like Jerry Beck who don't want to release an incomplete vol.2 set T&J is caught between a rock and a hard place, a situation which may not be changing any time soon. I'd give my left nut for T&J in 4K, though.

You're a T&J fan?! I had no idea!

"Sensitivity towards the material" meaning what, some racially/culturally insensitive stuff that was just status quo at the time?

Yes, even though the first volume of restored T&J shorts was released uncut on Blu (complete with disclaimer and even an intro from Whoopi Goldberg IIRC) the second volume is in limbo for the reasons stated above.

Wow, missed this thread before.

I have to be honest, though...this one feels like it's of the too good to be true variety. I kind of doubt that WB would skip putting out any Hanna-Barbera material on Blu-ray, and just go straight for UHD. And I would fully expect to see multiple articles detailing 4K masters being prepped well before any actual releases are announced, as was the case with the Peanuts films. There is nothing online detailing any sort of big remastering project, nor has there been any indication that the Diamond Collection line is anything other than DVD releases. And in recent years, Warner has been fairly cruel to much of their HB animation, relegating most releases to WAC DVD-R releases.

I'll be overjoyed to be proven wrong, but unless this is some kind of compilation, I think the listing was an error, and will be altered or removed very shortly.
