Default Biloxi Blues?

Has anyone seen this blu-ray? I'm doing an import order from Amazon Germany to the US and would like to pick up this movie. Has anyone seen it as I mostly interested in picture quality. Shout is releasing it her in the US this week but the prize is way higer than the German release.

Thanks

I just received this today and had a quick look at the picture on my PC. Looks like an older master and a typical one at that. Not bad, but could be much better with a remaster. AFAIK Shout have not remastered this, so probably won't be much difference. It's a BD-25, so bitrate is low. There are no English subs and audio is DTS HD MA 2.0.

For the price the German disk looks like the best value. I won't get to watch this on the projector until the weekend.

Thank you. I would love to hear your impression regarding pq on your projector. I use a projector as well.

Shout's release is on a BD-50 with healthy bitrate of 3600 kbps. I think I'm going to go that route since I love the movie so much.

I finally got around the watching this last night. The transfer is from a dated master. it's not terrible and is perfectly watchable, but it could be better. Theere doesn't appear to be any tinkering with the image.

the German Disc has a really horrible encode and that is not because it's a BD25. it's just awful.
