After announcing the development of a seventh film in the franchise this past summer, Paramount Pictures has set release dates for the next installment of Paranormal Activity, as well as a new My Little Pony movie, which will both hit theaters in 2021, according to The Wrap.

2019 marks the ten year anniversary of the release of the first Paranormal Activity movie, which blew up at the domestic box office and set the horror world ablaze with the found footage feature craze. The first Paranormal Activity was produced on a budget of $15,000 dollars and went on to gross $193 million worldwide.

Paranormal Activity was followed by five sequels, exploring the different corners of the vague mythos established in the first film and culminating in 2015’s 3D sequel, The Ghost Dimension. The six movies have brought in over $890 million worldwide, an impressive haul for their micro-budgets and setting the series up as one of the many fan favorite horror franchises in the mid 2000s.

Director Oren Peli helmed the original film in the franchise, and unsuccessfully tried to replicate the success of the film with other found footage projects like Chernobyl Diaries and Area 51 in theaters, plus The River on ABC. The franchise also attracted Catfish filmmakers Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman who directed the third and fourth movies in the series.

The seventh Paranormal Activity is set to hit theaters on March 19, 2021.

Following the box office success of 2017’s big-screen adaptation of the My Little Pony franchise, Paramount is teaming up with Hasbro’s Allspark Pictures for another adventure from the family series, although it’s currently unclear if it will be a continuation of the film or a standalone story.

The next My Little Pony is set to hit theaters on September 24, 2021.

The series just ended with season 9.

Could be the launch of the next gen but that seems like a hard way to start a new series.

Very interested to see what direction it goes in. It could still be in the FIM continuity or not the way it ended. It just depends when the movie takes place and what it’s about. I guess people were upset with how the show ended.

[Show spoiler]My problem was Discord being the one to regroup the villains just to boost Twilight’s confidence. I thought that was pretty ridiculous. It would have been much better if he did it in hopes that the ponies could help reform them like they did for him and others.

Also some were upset Twilight was big. I don’t mind but it needs explaining because Princess Celestia and Luna were bigger for no apparent reason either.

This movie will be G5 and it will be 3D CGI animated as well.

The only thing I didn't care much for the series finale was the rest of the main six having bags under their eyes.
