Default Roadkill (1989, Bruce McDonald)

Via X formerly known as Twitter:

CIP: New Restoration of Bruce McDonald's Roadkill Coming Soon to Blu-ray

Quote:
More exciting news for the months ahead: Bruce McDonald’s celebrated rock n’ road classic ROADKILL (1989) is coming soon from CIP! We can’t reveal the details just yet, but expect a disc worthy of the film’s iconic status.
Quote:
Description: Dubious rock 'n' roll promoter Roy Seth (Gerry Quigley), concerned that one of his bands is botching their recent tour, sends his assistant, Ramona (Valerie Buhagiar), to find them. Ramona has lied about being able to drive, so she must find a taxi driver (Larry Hudson) willing to drive all over Canada in search of the band. Along the way, they run into many eccentrics, including a philosophical aspiring murderer (Don McKellar) and a depressed boy who won't speak (Mark Tarantino).

I ended up watching this film last night on Prime Video and loved it! I'm just learning about Bruce McDonald and it's odd to me his stuff hasn't gotten as big as say, Kevin Smith. He was capturing an element of late 80s-early 90s culture in Canada that seems to exemplify the societies found up in Northern Ontario and Canadian towns and cities outside of the major 3. All while doing so with a sense of humour, sometimes black comedy and often satirical.

I'll now definitely be looking forward to picking this release up later this year. Hope it will have some great extras.

I love Hard Core logo and Pontypool so i am willing to go in blind on this one. Since it is his first movie i am going to guess it is very low budget and it will show.
