That's just bizarre.
Gabriel Axel's film (Babette's Gæstebud/Babette's Feast) is probably shown in the telly over here every 5th year or something like that, on one of the minor artistic channels. I had no idea that there was any interest for this film outside a very small community of film lovers. |

I'm both excited and somewhat disappointed by this news. Excited for obvious reasons, but disappointed because I almost never see the point of taking a brilliant film, like this one, and remaking it. I mean, why not remake bad films, and make them better? Granted, some material just isn't going to be salvageable at all. But some certainly is.
Oh well. I'm sure I'll see it, either way. |
