I was watching the South Park episode called The Passion of the Jew, which had a subplot where Stan and Kenny wanted a refund after watching The Passion of the Christ so they head over to Mel Gibson's huge mansion to get it. The episode made it explicitly clear that the audience should ask for refunds if a film is bad:
Quote:
(1) Just give a simple “Yes” or “No”. No explanation. No extra comment. Just one of those words. That’s more than enough. (2) Don’t “thank” any post. If you thank a post that already agrees with your answer, that would defeat the purpose of posting in the first place since one person could say “Yes” and get a lot of “thanks”. (3) Do Not Be Rude. The last thread about this was a disaster on both sides, as mentioned before. That’s why I limited the answer to either of those words. If you have something to say that will start chaos, then don’t even bother coming here. Now, vote away. Last edited by Poya; 11-20-2019 at 10:36 PM. |

One should ask for a refund if the movie couldn't be watched due to technical difficulties.

I worked at a theater and we would give passes instead of refunds depending on the situation.
We’d never give them out if the person watched the full movie, but if they came out in a reasonable time we would. So if the movie had only been playing for half an hour, and they said they didn’t like it for whatever reason, we would more than likely give them passes. We had quite a few people walking out of Deadpool within the first twenty minutes because they didn’t realize it was “that kind of movie”, and we gave them all passes. |

When I worked at a theater, three elderly ladies walked into American Wedding and walked out about 20 minutes later. I'm assuming we gave them their money back. |

Or unplanned disruption. Last free ticket I got was because the lights kept turning on in in the middle of the movie. Everyone else would just keep watching ![]() My brother and I were the only ones who got up to do anything about it... ![]() |
