I went and found all my old blus. Many of them unopened.
How do I know if some of these codes still work without redeeming them so I may sell the ones I don't care for here in the digital selling sub? And how do I know if they redeem as HD or SD considering some of these came from 3D-Blu-DVD-Dig combos/Blu-DVD-Dig combos/and Blu-Dig combos? The paramount ones seem straight forward like they are today, just go to their website and redeem it. But then I have some codes that say have a four step process of Insert Digital Copy Disc into Mac or PC drive (Boondock Saints, Taken 2). I had a Star Trek Into Darkness 3D Blu combo and the code said expired on the slip but it redeemed perfectly into iTunes and gave me the 4K upgrade. The Sony/Universal/Lionsgate ones seem straight forward enough, just go to their respective redeem websites. Seems the older fox stuff like Tree of Life and Skyfall are the ones you have to insert a DVD as well. Then I have all these older disney/marvel releases from the beginning of this decade like Incredibles and Up that are also asking me to insert the disc into MacPC and enter the "Magic Code". There is one Paramount movie here that requires me to put the disc into DVD-rom drive and that's Super 8. Do these slips that have Ultraviolet on them and tell you redeem at Flixster redeem in MA since Flixster/UV are no longer valid? Or should I toss them out. Seems like these are Warner releases like Pacific Rim and Man of Steel. I have a bunch of these sony pictures redeem from Raid, This is the End, Olympus Has Fallen, they all said they expired in 2015/2016 but assuming they still work. |

anything that is MA can be tested while logged out. same goes for a vudu only code.
paramounts have 2 redeems if done in vudu and itunes, you burn both if using the paramount site. the disc ones are XML codes, i dont mess with those. mostly SD redeems. test them all, dont toss them cause they are old, plenty still redeem well past their expiration date. Only the very oldest codes (usually the disc-based codes) have expired, and some of those were converted to work in Vudu/MA. Again: Only older Universal codes have expired (actually, were not renewed like in previous years). Some of those still work directly in either Vudu or iTunes, but some are indeed expired. A few codes the studio went out of business and so no longer work. Otherwise codes do not expire. Not even years after the printed expiration date. |

We were there 7/10-7/19.
I was hoping to get a photo of a eel but never found one. Just another thing to add to the list for next time. |
