USA Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia(Sam Peckinpah)-March 10, 2014-Limited to 3,000

SOLD OUT!

[Show spoiler]According to TT FB page, it seems that Twilight is the one who will bring Alfredo Garcia to Blu-ray in US.

Extras:
Quote:
Special Features: Isolated Score Track / Audio Commentary with Writer-Producer Gordon Dawson and Film Historian Nick Redman / Audio Commentary with Film Historians Paul Seydor, Garner Simmons, David Weddle, and Nick Redman / Passion & Poetry: Sam’s Favorite Film / A Writer’s Journey: Garner Simmons with Sam Peckinpah in Mexico / Promoting Alfredo Garcia / 6 TV Spots / Original Theatrical Trailer

Quote:
Some people will do anything for a million dollars...even if it means killing anyone who gets in their way! Written and directed by Oscar nominee Sam Peckinpah and starring Academy Award winner Gig Young, Warren Oates, Robert Webber, Kris Kristoferson and the seductively beautiful Isela Vega, Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia is a gritty classic that vibrates with explosive action and nail-biting tension.

When a Mexican land baron puts a million dollars on the head of the man who seduced his daughter, two money-hungry men (Young and Weber) recruit a small-town bartender (Oates) to help them do their dirty work. But their tequila-fueled trek across the desolate Mexican frontier grows more intense, gruesome and bloody with every savage murder they leave in their wake!

"From Twilight Time"

I'll wait for an international release then. They aren't getting a single penny from me.

Seems like it has the potential to be a solid film.

If you are multi region capable then there's a Spanish Blu Ray of Garcia which is under 10 Euros at Amazon.es. They also have the French release of The Killer Elite at about half the price of the other European Amazons. It's incorrectly maked as an Italian release but it is the French one as I got it the other day. Great disc, it has an uncut version as a special feature.

Great film, and one of the few that Peckinpah actually didn't have taken out of his hands in the editing room!

It's well known that TT's Nick Redman is a huge Sam Peckinpah fan (Oscar nominated for his Peckinpah doc to boot). So don't be surprised where MGM's Junior Bonner and The Killer Elite eventually land.

As for Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia, we have no reason to expect anything less than another quality TT showcase...including any vault features that MGM allows, plus that wonderful Jerry Fielding score in isolated form, losslessly reproduced.

Of course, all region fans have their alt region editions to fall back on if TT's price point is a deciding factor. But for my money, I think this title has found the best collector-class home stateside...in no small part due to the TT principals' longstanding love and respect for this filmmaker's body of work. So no qualms whatsoever that Garcia will be treated very, very well.

...and a sample of Fielding's work in this film:

This should be a great release Nick Redman is a huge Peckinpah fan and I would imagine we will have the MGM Commentary track carried over.

According to Nick Redman (of Twilight Time) it's set for release next year. He's a huge admirer of Peckinpah's work, so it should be a very handsome package.
