Default Oblivion (Joseph Kosinski, 2013) IMAX aspect ratio poll

This movie is being released in Digital IMAX. I just came back from a Digital IMAX screening. The entire movie is framed in approximately 1.78:1, though there are brief
[Show spoiler]black-and-white memory flashbacks
that are framed in 2.40:1. (This is the opposite of Tron: Legacy, which was primarily 2.40:1 but switched to 1.78:1 for the action sequences.)

Do you want Universal to release the IMAX version on Blu-ray? If yes, in which configurations?

First of all I will see in both presentations and enjoy both for different reasons.I have never seen a major motion picture in true IMAX 15/70 EVER.
I found the Pacific Science Center here in Seattle that exhibits true IMAX.

Secondly please change the title of the tread. The wording on the front page makes it look like a dolt made a duplicate thread.

IMO "Oblivion Aspect Ratio Poll IMAX" would have fit.

BTW I am not sure and always wondered how members view thread titles.
I am purely front page Blu-ray.com, I never dial down to sub sections. I just play with what is most popular unless I want to revive my own thread or post on a movie I have never seen.

Oh, it was truly breathtaking. The sets are sooooo beautiful. I want the director to design my house.

Being shot in 4K with the Sony F65 was definitely going to make this film a visual masterpiece I'm curious how M83's score turned out?

Ok , I will answer now.

Whatever screen I have in front of me I want it filled. Plain and simple.

Once directors find a way to have a consistant AR in a movie I will be happier. Switching AR's bother me (within a movie). If you can tell a story well, then you can tell a story we'll in any AR.

When I was a kid I learned from someone (before internet) that directors would like to see their movies seventh row center. As an average in old time theaters that spot was a place where your eyes were filled with screen. You did not have to turn your head, look up or down and the environment of the theater did not grab your attention because your full sight was consumed by screen. For a while this was true as a teen, then the multiplex changed the parameters, So I now always find the sweet spot in any theater, that spot that puts you in.

A little old but funny

At IMAX there is an incredible sweet spot (and it's pretty big). I am a Tom Cruise fan and I will like any cheese he dishes up. So that, with a nice cinematographer and art director will make for a pleasant cinematic afternoon.

The humans natural aspect ratio is about 1:48 so that would nice.

Music score is online:

The best track is "Canyon Battle". The whole sequence was over-the-top intense.

Many of the reviews say the visuals are the best thing about the film. But they also say it's rather pedestrian and takes liberties from better movies before it. I want to see it, but will wait to see if the RT meter inches up above 70% by Friday.

Why wait? Other forum members and I have already seen it. We heartily recommend it.
