![]() ![]() I just wanted to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the entire blu-ray.com staff and all of the insiders that take the time to post here. As a long time AVS lurker, I'm really disappointed in what has transpired there the last 2 years. The HD DVD fanboys and "X-bots" have been running rampant for far too long. The more time I spend here, the more it seems like we're all part of one big blu-ray family. It's awesome to be able to read through a thread without a constant pounding of fanboy BS and negativity. I'm 32 and married so I don't feel like wading through 10 pages of crap looking for useful information and intelligent opinions. Having said that, I have to admit it. I love my PS3. It may be weird and creepy to love an inatimate soulless object, but the damn thing just continues to amaze me 14 months after I picked up a 60GB launch unit. After clu-ray stumbled out of the box and the PS3 launch underwhelmed, it's been a steady flow of great news, awesome games and incredible BD movies over the past 6 months or so. With the format essentially over, I am proud to be a member of the "winning" team and look forward to many years of entertainment from my shiny black box. I feel this site played more than just a small role in ensuring blu-ray's well deserved victory. The latest addition of the individual insider threads are must reads on a daily basis. There's just so much good info coming from these threads. Kudos to all of those who have contributed here. As a lifelong gamer and longtime movie addict, I've never owned a better piece of equipment than my PS3. It's that good. It was solely responsible to my entry into the crazy and expensive world of home theater. Watching a good BD disc in glorious 1080p and 7.1 lossless surround sound is something that every movie buff should experience in their lifetime. My wife and I have foregone the movie theater as it just doesn't compare to our 65 inch beauty. It's been a long road the last 2 years. Blu-ray's rough start had me worried for a little bit, but 60 BD's and 12 games later, I'm in HD heaven on Planet Earth (great box set BTW!). Here's to a phenomenal 2008: a decisive blu-ray victory and the greatest games library in history. I've bored you all enough. Get back to enjoying your regularly scheduled blu-ray movies and/or PS3 games! Last edited by bambam1901; 01-17-2008 at 05:34 PM. |
