Default John Hughes Yearbook Collection - 3/10

http://www.amazon.com/Hughes-Yearboo...848369&sr=1-53

John Hughes was one of the most influential writers/directors of all time, creating an iconic portrait of 1980s teen life that helped define an entire generation. Experience some of his most memorable films in the John Hughes Yearbook Collection, showcasing three of his most beloved films ever made. Encounter teen angst in The Breakfast Club, teen love in Sixteen Candles, and raging teen hormones in Weird Science. Starring Brat Pack members Molly Ringwald, Anthony Michael Hall, Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy, these warm-hearted coming-of-age comedies are a true testament to the filmmaking genius of John Hughes.

Lightbulb Writer/Producer set, please!!

Yawn. That's just his same ol' Director's (only) set, again. Have 'em all, long ago - twice over. How 'bout a John Hughes Writer/Producer set with:

Pretty In Pink
Some Kind of Wonderful
Career Opportunities

Now I'd buy that set in a heartbeat! It'd be nice to finally knock these three off my long-standing Wish List too...

Agree - disappointing reissue. Can we not just have the ones that still need a BD release? Can hardly believe that Pretty in Pink still hasn't had a BD release....

It would've been nice if Universal included Career Opportunities and The Great Outdoors as part of the set. The other two titles you mentioned are with Paramount (as well as She's Having a Baby), so there's pretty much no chance we'll ever see those.

Strange, I was just thinking on Christmas that we should have a Hughes box set. I pictured something way more substantial though.

I agree as well. Career Opportunities would be sweet.

While it's not blu, at least I have the other two in HDX.

I'm probably the only one who wants Curly Sue on Blu-ray.
Mr. Mom wouldn't be bad either.

I was hoping it would be something like that too. And with fancy packaging like some of the other director's collection sets. Instead, it looks like a standard triple feature release but with the John Hughes distinction noted instead of simply calling it a 'triple feature'.

John Hughes should have a nice collection and with more of his work on the Blu-ray format.

I only own these three films on DVD and would like to upgrade them to Blu but sadly their transfers aren't that great. Hell, Weird Science's PQ according to reviews is absolute shit apparently.

If Weird Science was a new restoration like The Breakfast Club supposedly is, then this set would suddenly become very appealing.

Well, well, well... if The Breakfast Club and Weird Science are both new remasters I will be getting it after all. I'll at least re-buy Breakfast Club if it's a much better transfer.

They might as well call this an Anthony Michael Hall set, since he's in all three of them and featured in every cast shot on the front.
