Brazil Ratchet & Clank 3D Blu-ray (2016) [Region Locked / Free]

Ratchet & Clank was only released on 3D Blu-ray in Brazil, Italy and France.

The Brazilian release is REGION FREE and plays in English with no issues.

The Italian release is Region B locked and plays in English but does have on-screen text in Italian as well as Italian subtitles. To play the film without subtitles, make sure you start it in Italian and then use the pop-up menu to switch to English.

The French release is Region B locked and plays in English but with forced French subtitles, so that's the one to avoid.

So despite no evidence in the marketing that this would be stereoscopic, my local theatres are offering pre-sale tickets for 3D showings. Is this true for anyone else or is it a fluke?

Yeah, I see Fandango listing 3D showings on their website as well. I'm a bit skeptical to buy them, as I remember a similar thing happened with Fantastic Four last year (which was originally announced for 3D but that was cancelled when reshoots left no time/money for a conversion).

But none of the marketing mentions 3D, even the film's own website. Maybe someone can reach out the filmmakers on social media or something asking if it's in 3D, cause if so, that's just terrible advertising (I get family animated films tend to be more 2D ticket sales heavy than other genres so it wouldn't be a focus of the marketing, but I don't see why not at least put a little "in 3D" tag on posters/trailers).

Edit: actually I found a TV spot on youtube, and if you pause it 27 seconds in, on the left side of the screen mixed in with a whole bunch of other logos is Real D 3D. So very much looks like it will be in 3D- they really should've marketed this better

Looks like it is showing in 3D in Canada today , that's a good sign.

It's also listed for 3D at most theaters in Los Angeles

Or because the studio had no confidence in the film. This seems to be partly the case with Ratchet & Clank seeing as they haven't made it clear if the film is releasing in the UK or just the U.S. I don't think they expect it to make money in any other country than America.

It has Real D 3D as well.

In fact, all the TV spots has the 3D logo.

Cool

Real D 3D I see in my theaters. Good, as I wanted to check this out but only if it was in 3D. I've played a little bit of the video games years ago, but a movie sounds more interesting. Here's wishing the best for the 3D.

Good one. That's in line with the video games titles in the series and how they play with words. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ratchet_%26_Clank

That's what it says on the poster.

I played one of the Ratchet & Clank games (Quest For Booty) but gave up after some frustrating platforming sections. I gather that a few of the games were released in 3D though, and look good that way, so it makes sense that the film is in 3D too. I'll be checking this out on 3D blu ray...

I'm probably gonna go see this. Looks like another pre-ordained flop though... it's opening weekend and all my local theatres only have TWO showtimes per day, one 3D and one 2D, during the evening only.

The theaters don't lock in schedules until Tuesday or even Wednesday. This happens every week around me without fail. That being said, it will play 5 times a day and still flop lol.

It'll definitely depend on those who just bought the new game to support it in the theater too, but that doesn't always work out.

The style of platforming is definitely challenging in the games (the jumps sometimes seem too far away to reach), and not the style of game I normally look to play, but I can see why it appeals to its fans.

With CapAm Civil War 3D May 6th, a week later, this will need a solid opening week to stand a chance at earning a decent take.

The 3D definitely is what will get me into the theater, I agree. I hope it's worth it, though the movie looks entertaining enough.

Knew I'd seen it somewhere. Stupid that they didn't use it for the trailer.

Unfortunately I'll have to wait for the Blu-ray due to the fact that they're only offering Dutch-dubbed showings in the Netherlands

Early BO forecast for the film isn't looking good, but the game is apparently having the best first week sales of the entire franchise.

That doesn't surprise me. How's anyone supposed to know the film's coming out when there's a lack of advertisement for it?

I do feel bad for the movie. The series is awesome and didn't get into myself until the PS3 debut. When I played it I was thinking it would be an awesome movie one day. Now this seems like a throw the scraps to the dog and we don't care approach. Should of hung unto the film until mid summer after Pixar and other kids movies had been out for a bit. Still hoping for some 3D shows as the scenes they have released online seemed geared for it.

Just checked and yes we have 3D show tickets listed.

I'll check it out this week and report back on the 3D. I'm guessing it'll be medium range with some mild 3D. If it's strong 3D, even better.

That's a late show time. Hopefully they have more options by the weekend for you.

Considering that multiplex has 24 theaters, I don't know why they couldn't have an afternoon showing also.
