I'm at the end of my tether. I'm still experiencing lip sync issues when watching - in partcular - Dolby Vision material on my LD OLED C7. To a slightly lesser extent also HDR10 material.
The problem seems to be picture processing which is pushing the picture behind the audio. When DV / HDR10 material is active, the LG switches on Real Cinema mode which can't be switched off. I've heard Real Cinema adds around 88ms delay - on top of the usual TV input lag. I've tried adjusting the audio delay in my Oppo 203 and also my Denon AVR-4200 but that just screws up other blu-ray sources (non-24p). I initially switched to Game mode and that seemed to fix things. However I was bothered that I might not be getting the best performance in that mode. I've now disabled Dolby Vision in my Oppo 203 and am forcing all output as HDR10. This also seems a lot better. Is there a known fix to this Dolby Vision / Real Cinema lip syn problem with LG TVs? |
