Default Looks Like the Oppo 205 Will be Out of the Budget...Please Recommend Alternatives

Received an email from the gracious folks at Oppo over the weekend after I had poised some questions to them about what the price of the incoming stock of 205 UHD disc players will be (they said the extra stock of players will be arriving at the end of the summer), in addition to some queries about the way my current BDP-83 is behaving with my new UHD TV, and they informed me the player will be priced at $1300.

This is going to be out of our budget (didn't jump on the 203 when it first came out and should have), so I'm asking if anyone here could recommend any premium-level players as an alternative. What's important to us -- believe it or not -- is DVD upconversion performance based on the massive library of discs we've invested a great deal of time and money in; the BDP-83 has been outstanding in this regard, thanks to the Anchor Bay VRS processor, and we'd like to continue to see that kind of performance if possible moving forward with a UHD player that can upscale DVD and Blu-ray effectively.

Now, from what I understand, Panasonic and Pioneer are working on premium-level players to kind of fill the gap Oppo's going to leave in the market...but are any of these available yet, and does anyone know what price point they're going to be at? Will all of these support Atmos and DTS:X bitstreaming?

Any opinions or insight here would be greatly appreciated, as we need to replace our BDP-83 because of its DVD loading problem (and finally take advantage of our new display's 4K resolution!).
