Red face A Little Scared -- Just Spent a Fortune!

Hi everyone. I'm new to this group. Actually have been a member for a couple of weeks, but this is my first post.

I've been wanting HD for at least three years now. Ever since Plasma TVs came into prominence, I've fantasized about having a flat screen TV with full HD media experience. Unfortunately, I wanted a large LCD, not Plasma, full 1080 res instead of 720, and, of course, a high-def DVD and TiVo experience. All of these pieces were not available back then -- but are now.

I just plunked down $7500 to replace my ENTIRE television/entertainment system. I'm getting the new 46" Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR3 (in black), Sony RHTG1000 Theater Stand System, have ordered the Sony Blu-Ray player, and just bought a new TiVo HD unit. I know there are pros and cons to each piece of hardware I just paid for, but I got sick of the waiting game and decided to pay the "early adopter tax" so I could stop waiting and get down to enjoying my TV experience again.

Does anyone else have the set-up I mentioned above (of course with the exception of the Blu-Ray player which is just pre-ordered)? The TiVo has arrived, but everything else is on back-order. The TV is expected to arrive next week, and I'm doubtful the Blu-ray player will ship any time soon. Regardless, if you have any of the items I just ordered, let me know. I'd be interested in hearing about your experiences. Thanks!

Welcome!

While, I don't have the same equipment, I can tell you with complete confidence that you made some great decisions on your choice of display and playback hardware.

Just wait until you fire up your first Blu-Ray disc. You'll see it was all worth it and you made the right choice. By the time you get the Sony player, you'll have some really killer titles to choose from.
