Default The CW's 'Arrow' (Season 8)

Smallville has opened the door to a new show that will eventually get canceled because people cannot handle anything from DC besides Superman and Batman.

This show looks pretty good but I don't see it lasting more than a few episodes.

I love the dark look but they r making a huge mistake if they arent making Laurel Lance
[Show spoiler] Black Canary
right from the get go.

I don't think she
[Show spoiler]will be Black Canary because they've said they're going "Nolan's Batman" on the show, meaning nothing supernatural. So unless she's BC without her cry, I don't think we'll see her

i really think this darkness like Batman Begins is not a good fit for a show on CW. It will skew old i think.

Just like they arent doing stuff like the boxing glove they could certainly
[Show spoiler] do Black Canary without the cry. The way they set it up up the Lance/ Queen relationship, I was sure we would learn that while he hanging with Gilligan, Lance was secretly fighting the good fight back home. Guess not.

It looks like it will be good, but since it's on the CW I don't think it'll last that long.

I still don't know how it'll work without Hartley. I hope this new guy will end up being as pump as he was.

Smallville's Green Arrow started out as a Batman expy.

Hell, a large part of Green Arrow's identity is lifted right off of Batman. Regular human who trained to peak physical form, fights villains by night as a masked vigilante, but by day is a rich-as-hell owner of a large business.

They did some stuff with him in the comics, like running for mayor and they really pushed the political angle with him, but it's still easy to distill him down to the same common elements he shares with Batman. It is, after all, these commonalities that made Smallville use Green Arrow when they learned Batman was totally off-limits.

I'm pretty sure Black Canary originally had no powers at all in her inception. Either way, the power is secondary to what makes her truly great: she's an expert fighter thanks to training with the best fighters of the DC Universe.

Also: fishnet stockings.

Which I thought was awesome. I still think Hartley should have been in this show.

Hartley wasn't casted in the show for two reasons: a) The producers wanted to put as much distance between themselves and 'Smallville' as possible. They keep talking about how 'Arrow' is going to be the darkest series to ever air on the CW network and it is a very gritty, dark, action drama; and they wanted to create their own mythology and origin story. b) Hartley had already put that medical show with Meryl Streep's daughter (can't remember the new title, it was originally called "First Cut") in first position for the 12/13 season.

I accept that and can't wait.

The CW's version of Battlestar Galactica.

The Arrow trailers plays like the Cliff Notes version of Batman Begins I think BC is much better without the powers. It would be hard to do her power on tv without it looking hoaky. Having her in it also moves it away from a Batman clone.

The show is looking good from what we've seen so far. I'm expecting it to be a hit for the CW.

Filming resumes for the series in July, so we should start to get more of an idea as to how certain characters will be involved in the story.

Hmmm At 3:23 in the trailer, there is a quick shot of Deathstroke's mask. it could be interesting just from that alone
