Default my samsung 1200 now strobes. anyone experienced this?

when i insert a disc now the picture starts to strobe. obviously it's unwatchable. i have the latest updates so i'm wondering now if the unit/laser has gone bad. it certainly wouldn't be from over-use because i also have a toshiba hd dvd player for hd dvd only movies and pretty much split time between the units.

thanks

alan

That's a new one for me. Sounds like some kind of HDMI cable problem.

ok...the problem seems to be the copy protection. i hadn't gone back far enough. the player plays older blu-ray discs fine. but on 3:10 to yuma the deck just won't play it. it gets stuck on these three golden gears that wind endlessly...

i'm on the newest firmware by the way

any ideas

You might want to check for another update. Samsung has be notorious late with updates.

actually, i went to the samsung site and there was a notice posted that 3:10 to yuma doesn't work with many of the 1200 units!

the strobing occured because my screen resolution was set incorrectly. it never mattered before but with the new discs it did.

thanks everyone...

Correct.
They posted an Alert for the 1200 regarding 3:10 to Yuma playback issues.
