I don’t know. Looks like they are just video servers for HDDs. No disc playback at all. I’m sure there are better alternatives out there.

Just read up on this on their website. Player looks amazing and they have their own proprietary image enhancement called “pixel magic”. One interesting feature was the ability to bypass disc menus and warnings and go straight to playing the film.

Very Interesting. I’m keeping an eye on this player.

Sure you can skip the menus, but that’s only after you have ripped the disc to a HDD. The amount of storage capacity you would need to store 4K discs would be huge. Doesn’t seem like a good value to me.

Oh I know and I’m still impressed with it, if it delivers on it’s promises.

I see it has 1 hdmi in and 2 hdmi out. I wonder how it would interact with a 4K UHD player?

These Players are to Back-up and Store your Movies, Shows, and Music, and then play from the Stored Collection. You put these on a Wired Home Network, and you can add more Storage as your Collection grows. It doesn't play Discs.

I understand that now but was curious as it had the ability to accept another hdmi device. Something like this would have “hdmi in” for what purpose?

If you want to stream your physical collection (because of ease of use while maintaining better quality over actual streaming from services, as well as the advantage of being able to access it from anywhere in your house if you have the device) then this seems to be the best system for it. I’ve actually thought about doing that for my collection but the drawback for me is lack of Dolby Vision. I’m sure it’a possible if the device can back up the whole disc and play menus, but it seems this one is not DV compatible at all. Still though, it seems to be the best device to backup your collection to a server with and stream it for ease access.

I found this review which does go pretty in depth:
