Default Extracting DVD Menus

This is going to be a tricky subject, but I can't help myself.

I'm working on trying to extract menus from DVDs but I'm having difficulty figuring out how. Some of the work that went on these discs are just too darn beautiful to not have in some way shape or form. Most of the software I use don't even identify the menus even though file wise they are there.

Has anyone ever figured out how one can extract them?
