Default Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5

Quote:
This week during CES 2015 Tony Hawk himself headed to the Sony stage during their product showcase and keynote to "give the press a scoop." He spoke about Sony's action cameras - a couple of which were shown off this week for the first time - but also made clear the time and platform for his next Tony Hawk skateboarding game. He couldn't give too many details "I'm under embargo," he said, "but I can tell you that it has T H in the title."

Tony Hawk hasn't released a proper PlayStation-centric video game in many years. He started back with the PlayStation 1 for Tony Hawk Pro Skater and brought more than 10 games over the next couple of decades. Now it's time for the next generation.

Tony Hawk's next game will start with "Tony Hawk" and will likely include "skater" or "skating" in its title. Being a PlayStation 4 exclusive (or perhaps temporary exclusive), we'll get the original big-time original best skateboarding experience in as high-definition a set of visuals as we've ever seen.

Loved the first few games in the series and think I even enjoyed the 7th or 8th (can't remember which but I know it was on the 360). Hoping this game is like those ones.

As long as it is a proper entry into the series that I can play with a controller I will be more than happy to give it a shot. Especially with EA seeming to have abandoned the SKATE series. But then again SSX had a long hiatus too so maybe it will return one day.

I'd rather have Skate 4. The Tony Hawk games jumped the shark with Project 8.

I want the same gameplay as THPS, like the HD re-release.

If you give me gameplay with the jackass crew, I'm out.

Combine Skate and THPS and I'll be very happy.

The 360/PS3 re-release was such a disappointment and performed poorly.

Hopefully this game will fix that.

I'd love an SSX on the PS4! I really like the one on PS3!

I was extremely excited when I heard the first Tony Hawk was getting an HD remake, but when I got it I was very disappointed mainly due to framerate drops often sub 30, which is unacceptable for a Tony Hawk game.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 - First details/screens, PS4/XB1/PS3/360
Quote:
Putting to rest months of cryptic tweets from Tony Hawk, Activision and developer Robomodo have officially announced Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 – a return to the classic gameplay of the series' heyday.

The game is slated to come out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later in the year, with PS3 and Xbox 360 versions following shortly thereafter.

As the name indicates, Pro Skater 5 is a call back to the old-school lineage of the first four titles – back when the franchise was in its prime. The game weds the series' finely tuned gameplay with new additions such as power-ups and the ability to shoot projectiles for specific missions.

Shooting things from our Skateboards is exactly what this franchise needs . Also looks like another cross gen game that's going to get held back unless those are the PS3/360 graphics.

I just heard about this now and OMG, I'm so excited! This game was one of my favorites on N64 and nice to see a continuation. I liked what they did with Wasteland and Project 8, but going back to Pro Skater is just great. I hope it drops this year.

I miss the Tony Hawk games. Haven't played one in ages. My brother and I used to kick back playing these games, and he had a skateboard too. Good times, will certainly pick this up.

I remember skipping school and pulling all nighters with my buddy to play this game on the PSX, even though there were no trophies back then we played the hell out of it and unlocked every last little bit in that game.

It was an amazing game up until 3 then slowly started to go down hill.

If this sticks to the original simplistic game that they released way back when then they could be on to something. But throwing in new mechanics like projectiles seems pointless.

At this stage I'd be more excited for a new SKATE.

Excited for this! Only downside is the cross-gen news.
