This is easily still my all-time favorite comedy; works on some many levels. Excellent music by Elmer Bernstein and Harper's Bizarre; great casting. And i love the ending; very late 60s.
Obviously, what's left of Warner Archives and that stinking pay per view Amazon Prime don't care. This gem is something that needs the Criterion Collection treatment-or better yet, the Powerhouse Films, a unlike Criterion the don't disable zoom control. |

While you dismiss Warner Archive, they are almost certainly the only ones that may put it out eventually. They've put out quite a number of niche titles before, though whether this one is notable enough to be on their radar is unknown. You have to keep in mind that while you may love the film, it has been critically panned, and is simply not very well known at all. If it's a favorite of George Feltenstein, then that raises its chances a bit.

Not usually a Peter Sellers fan - but have always been fond of "I Love You, Alice B. Toklas". Smart script, very funny performances. Still enjoy listening to the Harpers Bizarre theme song. Saw the film when it was new and always assumed it was a big popular hit. Only in later years did I learn it under-performed at the box-office. One thing I've always maintained about this picture - Joyce Van Patten, Leigh Taylor-Young and Jo Van Fleet all deserved supporting actress nominations for it. Each of them is superb. Hope this one eventually finds its way to Blu-ray.
