There is no release date. It will come eventually though.

To add to the discussion a little here, are we absolutely certain that they have quality film stock stashed away somewhere? Seems to me like that would be something which would be very easy to go missing. Do they even show this in HD when it's aired on HD channels these days?

The show was shot on film. Also, the standard DVD's were mastered in high-def. So yes, there is a source good enough for Blu-ray.

Yes, tbs shows a cropped 16x9 version. I rather not have this version, I would like it in blu just in 4:3

the TBS HD 16x9 looks pretty good in 1080i. It's a giant leap from SD TBS when you flip between the two channels

I agree, Seinfeld would be a big improvement on Blu.

One of the insiders here said that it's being worked on.

You mean they remastered from source film when they produced the DVDs? I guess they saw the ripples of the future coming, eh?

That's good to hear, but this 16:9 cropping sounds troubling. Comedies above all else should not be cropped like that. At least it can be SOMEWHAT justified in other genres, but comedies do not need to be wider. Maybe if there was more material on the film and they could pull a 16:9 image off of that without cropping, it might make a little bit of sense, but it's still unneeded. Why do people think HD can't be 4:3?

if it isn't listed on any release calendar, it most likely has not been announced yet...

I'm sure we'll get it on blu eventually. My question is will it be as nice as the big set they released a few years ago. It still retails for around $150 but has a coffee table book and it's really a nice set. I'd love to get that set but I've been holding off for a blu-ray relase.
