I got a funny feeling that despite being parody this will be slapped with a copyright takedown. It might have survived as a free fangame but I would need a lawyer to show me how this could be monetized legally.

Maybe, but it’s been in development and demonstrated for a few years so there was plenty of time for Konami to take action. Hopefully if Retrowave is announcing this they’ve already done the legal review (or cleared it w/ Konami).
