Why no free movies for me? - Blu-ray Forum

I have had so one simeple question for sony and or blu ray i have sent them 2 emails each and i havent gotten any response, i work at BB and what am i suppost to tell my customers when they ask how there cust support is. I thought sony would atleast write me an email back but i havnt gotten anything? I sell atleast 3-5 ps3 a day and 1-3 blu ray players. You think they would treat the people good who are actually selling there product but i guess they dont care.

I call shenanigans.

As an employee of Best Buy, you should KNOW that Blu-Ray is not a company, therefore, it would not have a "customer service" department.

If there is a problem with a Blu-Ray disc, it would be returned to said store and exchanged. If there were further problems, it would be referred to the studio/manufacturer.

A better question would be, why doesn't the OP consider his chain of command, and refer this question to his superiors at Best Buy?

i just wanted to kno that since i did work for bb if there was any way i could be elegible for the 5 free blu ray movies with my ps3 its just stupid that i got the ps3 the day it came out and now that this whole battle has been going on and i have supported sony and ps3 and blu the whole time i dont get anything not even the 5 free movies. I just spent a big chunk on the xbr5 and surround sound now i have no money for movies lol i want some free ones.

acutally there is a blu ray disc cust service email and the other thing is that no one cares really about blu ray vs hd there.

Your employment with Best Buy should not matter as long as you follow the rules and qualify for the 5 free Blu-ray disc deal. If you bought it before the promotion or your chance to redeem that offer expired, then I am afraid you are SOL.

Never mind I just noticed you bought your PS3 the day it came out, so I just edited my entire post.

If there was no 5 free BD offer when you purchased your PS3, then that sucks, but what can you do about it? Hell, I was mad when I found out BB was offering the instant 5 free bd's with a purchase of a qualifying BDP, but I got over it. I just chose the wrong time to buy my bdp.

When I got my BDP S1 I got a copy of Fifth Element which I don't like. I gave it away. Not long after getting my machine they started offering free movies and I didn't get squat. Paid big bucks for machine and thats fine, its just about timing so you just have to get over it.

I was planning on starting a topic about this later this month, but as a game Cris started counting how many blu-standalones he sold after Paramount pulled that crap on us. He started doing so good he kept numbers on how many players he has sold since Sept 1.
I don't know the exact number and it has slowed down as of late because they're out of everything it seems at his BB. But he should hit the 1000 mark (only stand alone no PS3) by the end of the month if not sooner. Id say he is entitled to some free movies? Id say at least a PS3 and 5 free movies. Is he going to ask Sony or the BDA? No because there was no sell a 1000 players and get free anything. So you bought a PS3 when it came out? Congrats on a great purchase I salute you. (That's about all your going to get)

Hell I haven't sold a player and I am getting more than him. I am getting a Blu-Ray Leather Bomber Jacket but thats besides the point.

first of all, you didnt buy the ps3 when they had the offer. get over that. second of all it would take 2-3 months to get your blu rays. third of all, they aren't even that good of movies. just buy GOOD movies that you will like and stop asking for stuff that you don't deserve!! those free movies aren't even that attractive! buy from the next buy one get one free on amazon. buy five, and then u can get five free. that will justfiy it for you.

Yeah no offense but I would think that the reason you have not received a response is because they are too busy looking at it and going "WtF?".
You can at least feel happy in the fact that they have most likely printed your email out and pinned it up somewhere as comic relief.
All of us who bought their PS3 day one are in that boat, we will live.

You purchased the PS3 when it first came out, Nov 06. Now it's Jan 08 and while you work at BB you've not taken advantage of any of the sales and purchased and BD's in over a year? Now you want Sony to make up for this over-sight by tossing some free movies at you because you're doing the job you're getting paid to do? You've had enough cash for a PS3 and XBR5 and a surround sound system but not $20 for a movie?

Did I miss anything other than understanding why you feel the world owes you something?

People want to get sign-on bonuses, even if they are existing members. I get people that want the free gift cards from Comcast, even if they've been members for years. Normally they are given to new customers only. I think it's lame to expect promotions to apply retroactively. People's sense of entitlement is getting way out of hand...

I bought my ps3 when they didnt have the offer either i just scanned my reciept and changed the date to show i bought during the promotion. Yes I did recieve my 5 free movies no questions asked.

If you got your PS3 the day it came out, you got Talladega Nights for free, PLUS 5 $10 rebate coupons, which is what I got. I also work at BB, but I don't expect Sony to hand over free movies because I sell their stuff. I also work in appliances---I don't expect LG to give me a washer. You need to be realistic, dude.
