Anyway, we don't know how much time it would have took and i didn't want to wait.

I should have just done the best choice and eliminate both like scifisuperfan suggested

It’s standard procedure when dealing with draws on message boards and usually takes a matter of minutes once the thread has been bumped. And even if it did end up losing an hour or two on the next vote it would still be more fair than your solution.

You also could have allowed both films through to the next round. That would have served your bias too since they would have split the Connery vote.

The right side of the bracket is top-heavy. I suspect it was purposely engineered that way to promote a weaker film from the left side to the finals. The top four seeds are arguably From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, Casino Royale and Skyfall. They should have been evenly split by actor/era on both sides of the tournament brackets. The opening round match-up pitting From Russia against Goldfinger is a joke to begin with, and not letting one more vote to roll in from someone other than the moderator, to break the tie for the decision, is even worse.

These two films are essentially equal in my book: From Russia With Love over Casino Royale in another incredibly difficult choice.

I voted for From Russia with Love, but I have to concede picking it arbitrarily over Goldfinger is unfair. Both titles should have gone into the mix. Besides, I'm voting for Licence to Kill. Very tough one though, as these three represent three of my top five.

What difference does it make? The best movie or most popular movie will win regardless of who it's up against. The FA Cup operates without seeding and that's where a lot of the fun comes from, underdogs pulling upsets, top teams facing off against each other in the early rounds. It's just a tournament for fun, if you don't like the format you could always create another one using your own preferred rules.

You know, at the end of the day, I just don't give a shit about anyone in From Russia With Love, despite how much fun and stylish it is and how memorable Red Grant is and the train fight. I just don't care much about what happens to the characters. Casino Royale is the exact opposite. It's engaging because of the characters and script. The action is just the cherry on top. That's a good action picture, when the character scenes are just as compelling as the action sequences. That's why I hold Casino Royale in such high esteem, along with OHMSS, because when I think back on those films, it's not the action I remember, but the characters and the story.

From Russia with Love, Connery's most well-crafted and entertaining entry. I never have and probably will never get the fuss over Casino Royale.
