Surround Sound - Please Help

Hi guys!

I am looking at buying a AV Receiver and speakers, not too sure which one yet as i don't plan on spending a lot, but keep the budget small as it is only for my bedroom.

My problem is the layout of my room, i have attached a picture of the layout to this thread, and i watch movies laid on my bed. The speakers will not be able to be placed in a standard square shape like you would put them in, but they would be placed in a slanted square shape, please see the picture.

Can anyone tell me whether i will benefit from this or if the layout will cause it to be a waste.

Red items - surround sound speakers and sub
Blue item - Bed
Black item - TV
White items - wardrobe and desk

(I was very bored at work today when i made the picture haha excuse my geekiness)
